Escaping the sameness trap
A 90-minute workshop that gives your team the language for why safety looks different for every person in the room — and turns it into a measurable, ongoing practice.
October dates are limited — Safety Month bookings are filling now.
Most businesses have the duty. Few have a way to actually meet it.
Since 1 April 2023, Queensland businesses — regardless of size — have had a duty to manage psychosocial hazards under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011, and the Managing the risk of psychosocial hazards Code of Practice 2022. But are they doing it in a way that actually works?
"You've sat in a meeting and wondered why speaking up is easy for some people and agonising for others. That's not a character flaw. It's wiring, conditioning, and biology — and most teams have never been given the language for it."
We can't expect employers to understand what each person needs to feel safe, when most people have never been asked to recognise it in themselves. That's exactly why safety is everyone's responsibility — the individual included, not only the business.
Five movements, in one session — and a rhythm after it.
Know yourself
Understanding why speaking up, taking a risk, or admitting a mistake comes easily for some people and not for others — and what that reveals about what safety actually means to you.
Communicate it
A simple, shareable way to tell the people you work with how you work best.
Recognise & respond
A guided practice for noticing what safety looks like for someone whose wiring isn't yours.
Team agreement
A safety agreement built together in the room — not handed down from above.
Revisit & reflect
A simple rhythm for coming back to it, because safety is a practice, not a poster on the wall.
Continued in the review sessionA benchmark you can actually come back to.
Self-Determination Theory identifies three basic psychological needs — autonomy, competence, and relatedness. In practice, that third one is what most people call belonging — and it's often the need leaders most want their team to feel. At the start of the session, each person rates where they sit right now on each of the three, as it relates to psychological safety at work — not physical safety. At the end, they rate again. That gives you a real, personal before-and-after — not a vague sense that "it went well."
One flat fee. Everything your team needs in the room.

Teams ready for more than a poster on the wall.
Built for teams who've already tried the basics — breathwork, mindfulness, a wellbeing day — and want something that goes deeper, without turning into a lecture. Delivered in person for Sunshine Coast businesses, or live online for everyone else.
Casey Benjamin
Founder of The Courage Project, Casey works with individuals and teams to help them recognise what actually makes them capable, safe, and whole — rather than teaching them to fit a mould. It's the same belief that shapes every session she runs.
"People don't need to be fixed. They need to be recognised."
